HomeByMe Software
This is my first time using HomeByMe website software and I spent 20 hours working in it in order to get familiar with it. Our tutor Mark made handout for Homebyme design software to help us out how to use it.
In order to use the software first I had to make an account. After that I chose the type of the project and give it a name. The last step was to chose how you want to design floor plans.
When I started to draw a floor plan I came across to first problem - the measurements were in inches. So I needed to change it to centimetres and I have as you can see in the picture below.
In build section I have found several different categories in witch you can build architectural elements. But than I came too another problem - the catalogue is to small for my requirements.
The catalogue is very small and limited. I couldn't make my own kitchen how I wanted instead I had to use default block, witch I dislike.
From the 'wide' range of sofas I selected some of them witch might fit in to my design, I placed them next to each other and play around with them so I can chose the right one for my design. I repeat this process with everything else as well.
This software have 3 different points of view. 2D perspective you can look at floor plans, 3D is giving you 3 dimensional perspective and STEPS are here to give you a virtual walk around the design.
This is final floor plan for ground floor.
On first floor I would like to have a Gallery but I couldn't make on in here, so here is what I manage to do out of it...
On the first floor is Bedroom and Bathroom witch are meant to be surrounded with glass fence, but again it's not possible to do it.
This is complited first floor plan.
After I have finished my designing, I took some realistic images or well known renderings. The free version have water mark on it, but you have 3 credits on renderings witch will come in high resolution (1920x1080px).
And lastly here are some more errors in this software.
1. You can not move the positions of rooms (where you have placed it, stays there forever, unless you wish to start again)
2. You can not move things from layers (ground floor/first floor/basement)
3. Limited and extremely small catalogue
4. Low quality renderings (unless you pay)
Overall, I give it a shot, but I know that this software is not for me. There are more and better options for my needs and requirements such as Roomstyler wich I'm planing to use.
I would like to hear what you think of this software, let me know in comment section below.
